I haven't uploaded anything yet this month, but I have been writing an introduction to two of my original game concepts, and hopefully, I will finish and upload one of them before the month is over~ :dummy:

Also, I decided to do this 10-question meme on a whim~

1. You must answer the 10 questions that whoever tagged you asked.
2. Then you must tag, at most, 10 people.
3. You must create 10 questions for those people to answer. They can be random questions, but they mustn't be anything too rude or too sexual. Don't copy anyone else's questions. They must be your own questions. You cannot answer your own questions.
4. Go to their page and tell them they have been tagged.

These questions are from ~

Features~

7 min read
For a limited time, regular members can use journal skins for free, so I decided to do features~

For each of the 17 first people answering this journal I will put his/her avatar and the three deviations I like most from his/her gallery on the list~

IMPORTANT: If you answer, you'll have to do the same in your journal, putting me on the first place, completing the list with 17 other people. The idea of this is not to get a free feature, it is to spread art around for everyone. I will check whether or not you have done this.

Also, since almost no one ever comments on my journals, I'm not going to bother waiting for people to comment and feature some people I watch~ :dummy:

Rune Factory 4

3 min read
I just discovered this, but on June 29, Rune Factory 4 was announced for the Nintendo 3DS in an issue of Famitsu~

:iconzoomlaplz::iconzoomlaplz::iconzoomlaplz::iconzoomlaplz::iconzoomlaplz:

For those who are unfamiliar with the Rune Factory series, it is a game series for the DS, Wii, and PS3 that are a combination of farm simulation and fantasy action-RPG. It was originally a spin-off of the Harvest Moon franchise and features many similar elements, including the ability to raise a farm, interact with townspeople, and marry a girl~

Unlike in earlier games, in Rune Factory 4, the player can play as a boy or a girl. The game also features the voice actresses Saito Chiwa and Yuuki Aoi~

You can find updated information about the game here~ www.fogu.com/hmforum/viewtopic…
You can see screenshots of the game here~ www.andriasang.com/e/galleries…

This is random, but I felt like making a list of books I recommend and a wishist of books I want to read~ :la:

:star:The Art of Game Design by Jesse Schell artofgamedesign.com/
The Art of Game Design is an amazing book that comprehensively explores the depths of game design~ Jesse Schell formerly worked for Disney Interactive, where he designed Toontown Online and various virtual reality rides, and he is currently the CEO of his own game company and a professor of game design. His book is guaranteed to fill the reader with insight and inspiration, and is an absolute must-read for any veteran, amateur, or aspiring game designer~ :la:

:star:Fablehaven (series) by Brandon Mull brandonmull.com/site/
Fablehaven is a family-friendly fantasy series hailed by some critics as the next Harry Potter. The story revolves around two siblings, Kendra and Seth, who stay at their grandfather's home while their parents go on a trip, and discover his home is actually a preserve for magical creatures, including fairies, satyrs, imps, and demons. In the first book, Kendra and Seth must save the preserve when an antagonist breaks loose. In the following books, they must stop an evil organization from overthrowing magical preserves throughout the world, while meeting new characters and new creatures. It is intense and imaginative~ :la:

:star:The Keys to the Kingdom (series) by Garth Nix www.keystothekingdom.com.au/bo…
The Keys to the Kingdom is another fantasy series that I think is overlooked and impossible to find in Korea (:ohnoes:). The story is about a boy named Arthur, who is supposed to die of an asthma attack until a man from another world gives him a clock hand that saves his life. But when suspicious dog-faced creatures invade his home to take the clock hand back, Arthur is forced to enter the world known as the House, and fight the ruler over the right to govern the world. After the first book, he must revisit the House over and over again after being targeted by the other rulers, who are each named after a day of the week and represent one of the seven deadly sins. Compared to Fablehaven, this series is much more outlandish and fantastical~ :la:

:star:The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle
These are the first two collections of Sherlock Holmes short stories, universally considered the best out of all the Sherlock Holmes stories, and there are some publishers who publish both of these together as one book~

:star:Tarzan of the Apes by Edgar Rice Burroughs
Tarzan of the Apes is a classical novel about a human named Tarzan who is raised on a jungle island among a tribe of apes. The book features many action scenes and a strong theme of self-discovery, as Tarzan uses the intelligence he inhabited from his parents to evolve beyond his ape brethren and search among the clues left by his parents to ultimately discover his true identity. The original book is extremely different from the animated Disney movie, and has cannibals~

:star:The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
The Secret Garden is a famous classic children's novel about a girl named Mary who is sent to live in her uncle's manor after her parents die of cholera. All her life, Mary had been unwanted and unloved, and it only continues when she moves into her uncle's manor, until she discovers an abandoned garden on the manor grounds. As she begins cleaning and reviving the garden, she undergoes a transformation herself. The book is emotional and features a strong theme of the need and magic of child nurturing~

Reality is Broken by Jane McGonigal realityisbroken.org/
From the official site:
"More than 174 million Americans are gamers, and the average young person in the United States will spend ten thousand hours gaming by the age of twenty-one. According to world-renowned game designer Jane McGonigal, the reason for this mass exodus to virtual worlds is that videogames are increasingly fulfilling genuine human needs. In this groundbreaking exploration of the power and future of gaming, McGonigal reveals how we can use the lessons of game design to fix what is wrong with the real world."

I first heard about the book on Gamasutra months ago and heard Jane McGonigal's keynote speech from GDC 2011, but I can't find the book at my local bookstore :ohnoes:

The Keys to the Kingdom (books 5-7) by Garth Nix
I haven't read the last three books of the series and I only saw the first book once since I have been in Korea :ohnoes: :ohnoes:

Nintendo Wii U

1 min read
Nintendo has unveiled their newest game console, the Wii U, at E3~

In addition to HD graphics and improved horsepower, the Wii U has a controller with a 6.2" touchscreen, in addition to the D-pad, four face buttons, two analog sticks, four shoulder buttons, a camera, and a headphone jack. The touchscreen can serve as a secondary screen like for the DS, or the player can turn off the TV and play with just the controller, although the controller doesn't work as a stand-alone portable game system.
